Kale chane (Black Chickpeas) -100 grams
Onion – 1piece
Green chilli – 1 piece
Tomato – 1 piece
Chat masala – 1/2 teaspoon
Oil – 1 teaspoon
Hing(asafoetida) – 1/4 teaspoon
Zeera(cumin seeds )- 1/2 teaspoon
Sabut lal mirch(red chili whole) – 1piece
Lemon juice – 2 teaspoon
Masala chana is an excellent high protein content and healthy breakfast option.It is good in taste,spicy in flavor and extremely easy to prepare.
Kale chane needs to be soaked for at least 4 to 5 hours or overnight. It is then boiled in the pressure cooker with 8-10 whistles at least.
Take a Kadhai and add oil, hing and sabut zeera and sabut Lal mirch for tempering. To this add chopped onion, green chili and tomatoes and saute for about 5 minutes . Add boiled kale chane to this mixture. Finally add a tinge of chat masala and lemon juice.
Garnish the dish with chopped green coriander.
