Oil – 3 teaspoon
Salt – to taste
Cut the bread into 1 inch square pieces. keep it aside.
Take oil in a kadhai. Temper with asafoetida, mustard seeds, curry leaves and whole red chili. Add chopped onion and cook till it turns pink. To this add chopped tomatoes. Cook till the tomato turns mushy.
Over this add cut pieces of bread. Add salt, black pepper powder and tomato sauce. Mix the ingredients together very well so that the taste spreads to the entire mixture.
Adjust salt if required. Add more tomato sauce if the mixture seems dry to make it little soggy. The end result taste sweet and sour and really yummy.
You can even skip the tempering part and make it with onion and tomatoes.Tastes equally good.
