Ingredients
- Gajar -500 grams
- Milk- 1 liters
- Sugar-To taste
- Raisins-1 tablespoon
- Almonds-1 tablespoon
- Nuts-1 tablespoon
- Cardamom powder -1 teaspoon
- Cooking time – 90 minutes
Procedure
Gajar ka Halwa is a popular dish in North India made mostly in winter season. It is very easy to make but takes a very very long time to prepare. The more time taken to cook it, the more tasty it becomes.
- Take grated carrot and add boiled milk to it in a large Kadhai.
- Keep cooking them both slowly for about 90 minutes.
- To this mixture slowly add raisins, almonds and nuts.
- Add sugar (to taste)only after the mixture starts boiling.
- Add cardamom powder for flavor.
- You can add khoya to the mixture to make it thick.
- Cook the mixture till it finally dries up.
Serve hot.
