Palak & Papad wali daal is extremely healthy and tasty option for lunch or snack.
Ingredients
- Arhar or Toor daal – 100 grams (soaked)
- Palak – 50 grams (washed and chopped)
- Turmeric powder – 1 teaspoon
- Salt – to taste
- Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
- Asafoetida – 1/4 teaspoon
- Whole Red chilli – 1 piece
- Onion – 1 piece ( chopped)
- Tomato – 1 piece (chopped)
- Garlic – 5 cloves (chopped)
- Ginger – 1 inch (julienne)
- Garam masala powder – 1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander powder – 1/2 teaspoon
- Red chilli powder – 1/2 teaspoon
- Green coriander leaves – 1 teaspoon (chopped)
- Kasuri methi – 1/2 teaspoon
- Masala Papad – 4 pieces ( Deep fried in oil)
Procedure
- Boil the Daal with Palak, Salt and Turmeric powder for four whistles.
- Take a kadhai and add oil , cumin seeds, asafoetida and whole red chilli.
- Add onion, tomato, garlic and ginger to the mixture.Cook well and add masalas- garam masala,red chilli powder and coriander powder.
- Add boiled daal and palak mixture into kadahi and let it come to boil.Add kasuri methi, green coriander leaves and roasted papad into the Daal .
- Let it cook for 4-5 minutes and it’s ready to eat with roti and rice.
You can add some Ghee while serving to make it more aromatic.
